Warm up complete – legs feeling good – stomach in a knot
Final bike check complete
Into the start tent – weather wet and gloomy
Under starters orders – focused do not hear the count down just watching the fingers
20 kilometres of me, my bike and the open road lay ahead
Coaches words ringing in my ears “classical music not rock and roll”
The turn around point wow this seems to have come quickly and I have the previous starter in sight
I am maintaining my max watts and my heart rate is not galloping
Should I be pushing more or will I bonk?
The return all seems to happen to quickly
Have I done enough for the title?
Even if I haven’t this has been the best time trial of my life, I am happy with my performance whatever the outcomeResults are out, I have got silver
